Cong-Galway 2024 - Saturday 31 August, 2024
The Cong-Galway sailing race was established by Corrib Rowing and Yachting Club (CRYC) in 1882. Today, the race remains the longest inland water sailing race in Europe.
The Organising Authority is Corrib Rowing and Yacht Club and Galway Bay Sailing Club.
The race is open to all boats with Portsmouth Yardstick Number of 1230 or below. The keelboat fleet is open to keelboats and traditional boats with a length overall of 18 feet or more.
The race comprises a variety of boats from racing dinghies to Galway Hookers and everything in between. The race is run over two legs with a mid-way break for lunch at Kilbeg pier, and finishes on the River Corrib upriver of the Quincentennial Bridge.
Lunch and after-race food are included in the entry fee for the sailors.
Refunds will only be provided before 17 August, 2024.
